Well I cut the wing this afternoon while sheltering from the blizzards, scraped out the servo placements, made some tape hinges, cut and bent the old cub pushrods and did myself the aileron mod.
Had the servos and several Y harnesses in stock so all I need to do now is tape over the servos and cable runs.
Works a treat, not as perfect as I would have liked but certainly within a mm all round. Hope this is accurate enough.
A big workbench and a straight edge over 300mm long would have been nice but necessity is the mother of invention and I ended up faffing around with a piece of plexiglass as a cutting board on my PC desk after SWMBO banned me from doing the cutting on the dining table.
Wimin - bleedin spoilsports.
Not happy using the original Rx / BEC but it will have to do for now.

Hounddog, do not get discouraged. As I've said numerous times, I learned on the original cub, with NImh, stock everything, and still flew fine. Best plane ever for learning on. Got to admit though, I would have fixed the original with Hot water, depron and carbon rod, rather than buy a new fuz. Once this stupid weather has vanished, hope your maiden goes smooth. Single piece of advice: once up, get as high as you can. That's it. Landing: You will or you won't. I've been flying for hmmmm 4 years properly, and still mess up... One piece, it's a good landing! Good luck!
