I really wanted to see what my plane sees so I took some scotch tape and taped my iPhone4S to the side of my super cub. Trust me, it was very secure. I've done it 3 times now but I'm going to actually purchase something better suited for this. I'd hate to lose or damage my phone. But I do like how things came out! www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Jm4zVKtCko

I actually put it in airplane mode because I was worried it would mess with the plane.

...if id have to guess, id say if you mounted the phone where the CG stays the same...it should fly.. I would NOT recommend a hand launch tho...probably be too heavy for that, and youd be risking your phone...don't know how he could mount to the side of plane as I would think it would wanna flip that way...bottom would be best...i have an EVO 4g and I think it would be too heavy...

Bloody hell! Keychain cameras work fine and can be had for...hmmm, $10.00 or so. No way would I risk a very expensive phone for a bit of mid air video. ...More money than sense....grumble, grumble......
