The ThunderPower AC is one of the 4-button 50W chargers. In this case it has a laptop 12v/5A power supply in the top portion. A number of them do. They all actually run on 12-18v and need at least 5A. Some of them (like any laptop power supply) burn out creating problems for the user. Personally I prefer a separate PS even it it isn't as 'clean'. If the PS dies it's much easier to replace. I have a couple laptop supplies and one converted PC PS. That charger would be OK.
FWIW, I was heavily into HZ chargers when I started. Out of 5 I only have 2 that still function though rarely used as they are NiMh only and I have much better chargers for that.

I like the simplicity of that charger. Makes it great for me.I also noticed they now have out a 19 in 1 charging adapter, they just keep adding ends. I was never sure what to buy. I used the ones that came with the planes, they had a green light-red light and never knew if it was doing right or not.they claim to be a balance charger but how did you know for sure? Trial and error was it. I still am very lost when it comes to figuring out all that info and what is best or how to do it and all that stuff. Even with all the reading, sometimes it is like reading a foreign language. And as we have discussed many times, seems everyone has a different opinion and way of doing things.But I bought a Mini Super Cub and I have to say the manual that came with it, had more info about the Lipo than any other manual ever did. It explained voltage, charging, discharging and storage information than any one I have ever seen. thought that was great.especially for so many who still do not know.Beginners get them hook them up and that is it....they never consider the danger it can cause if handled wrong, even in today's information age.Most planes have manuals but other than charging info like, " charge you battery before flight and read all warnings an labels "that was as much info as any beginner got.And those small instruction sheets that come with the battery in multiple languages that no one without a magnifying glass can read....and after you read it , you still wonder what it was saying ? ............ Glad I have you and many others giving me the info and help on this forum. It is priceless. I actually bought that Charger due to the fact it has a built in power supply and it was cheap, and if it didn't last no big deal.But so far it has been great ( not sure of it's longevity yet , have not had it that long ) but time will tell. Nor I. Is the USB end larger than normal? If so maybe the electronics are in there, unless there is something on/in the batteries.
