You want a motor weighing in at 60-90gm with a KV of 1100-1400 (around there) with an appropriate prop. In general, the heavier the more powerful. The higher the KV the faster. High KV-smaller prop / lower KV-larger prop. 2 candidates out of many: www.rctimer.com/index.php?gOo=goods_details.dwt&goodsid=130&productname=www.rctimer.com/index.php?gOo=goods_details.dwt&goodsid=131&productname=Both are large enough you would have to upgrade your ESC. They would be POWERFUL. Sizing down a bit would be fine like the 2826 series and still plenty of power. Your problem is a tiny motor with TOO high a KV for a Cub with a LOT of drag. That is a small jet or delta wing motor. Your stuff isn't getting hot because it's cheap Chinese, it's getting hot because you are using it inappropriately.

Hello all,i have upgraded to a rctimer 2836-6 1500kv,second link flydiver shows up there.great motor for the super cub i must say.Im using a 8x4 prop and wow it has great power now with a 30a esc at the moment.waiting on the 40 amp.Batts where not hot this time at all esc was nice n cool motor was a bit warm but not bad.I think it will work for me just fine. The beast seems to have a ton of thrust now and just as much speed.I think a set of floats wont bother it a bit now or will see any way lol.Thanx flydiver.
