I am the world's worst flyer (seriously!) but I have little problem with ground take-off. I have upgraded to larger wheels. My flying field has shortish grass. I give her about three quarters throttle and slight up elevator and away she soars. My opinion is that any Newbie has enough to worry about without having to bother with throwing her up and then quickly thinking about getting your fingers on the TX controls before she crashes. With ground launch, they are already on the controls. Just be careful not to give her too much up elevator, just the lightest touch should be enough, as with all controls.
