I've seen you! s.n.iggering at my flying attempts with my weedy brushed motor! Well no more, d**n you! This is the beast I'm installing into my luvverly foam cub: www.giantcod.co.uk/a28146-1410kv-brushless-outrunner-motor-p-402433.htmlShould be big enough? I'm glad I fitted my SC out with 6mm carbon rod in the wings, as I think I'm going to need it! Now just to figger out how to fit it!

So, what do you figure? Simple back flip? Black flip with a half twist?

Pah! I don't have to take this abuse! I am now so well trained, that no matter where in the sky my plane is, I can ALWAYS get it to hit the ground! With my new brushless motor, I'll be able to do it even faster! ;D

Same motor as mine, but the 1400kv version.
Stand back mate, that thing's gonna be a rocket. You'll probably need 7 inch props for it, and make sure you have a prop balancer.

Toff/Dill, are guys serious? Can the SC firewall and/or motor mount handle that stress?

From the same stable as the motors I put in the TSII, SP = Suppo. Chose your prop carefully, a 1400Kv is a bit high rev'ing for the sizes normally fitted to the SC and that could drain your Lipo packs pretty quickly. Also PH has raised a valid point, check your firewall is secure to the fuse, and re-check it regularly until you are sure it's not being pulled off the front.
Oh and in case you've not realised, you'll need to mount it to the outside of whatever you choose, if you try a cage type mount you'll have to reverse the shaft.

All in order! And as for the firewall? Since my nose-in last july, my firewall is nearly all epoxy, and as such is solid as a rock!

Ooh.....Initial test data! 2200 thunder power 3S lipo at 11.84V , 9 x 3.8 sf prop= 183watts, 24 amps, 75% throttle ( cos I was slightly worried!) Defininately flying this at less than half throttle ( at least to start with!) Test the other props tomorrow.

Problems, problems, problems......Can't get the motor to start at anything less than half throttle, and then it's straight on to 50% power, and can't seem to program the ESC to 'soft start'. 50% power seems to be 100% power on the stock setup, so a fast take off then!

Ah, the back flip with full twist then.....

Have you checked your placement of magic smoke? I understand, that when inside, it works, when it's out, it doesn't, but exact placement of inbetween times for best function Im not so sure about. Worth checking! Seriously, John

Well John, I checked the flim-flam, the wiggle-woggle, the flugelschnozzer and the willawong, but so far nothing seems to work. The magic smoke is in the correct position, so I'm now assuming the problem may be the snozzwanger. Or the fact it's a cheapo ESC. One or the other, anyway.

Could it be your programming on your TX? Not sure what TX your using but just a thought. If it was my plane I wouldn't be trying the full throttle, not working right approach to first flight.

No...the point is I want a slow start on the throttle, with a gradual build up to full throttle. As it is it's only starting at half throttle on the TX, and the motor is turning pretty fast at that. TX is a Radiolink 2.4ghz 6 channel from giantcod.co.uk.
