They are the best of the cheap LiPos and my favorite brand. This is a good deal but I didn't jump on it because I already have 2 of these exact ones. I like them but I'm now buying 25C or 30C batteries only since I'm flying some models that fly better with the added power. 20C is very good for the Super Cub though.

Even at $8.99, theyr'e only 5.81 GBP, so a bargain anyway! And yes john, they'll be fine!

I now tend to think of the C rating as how much power it puts out at once. 10c - gentle power output, like a citroen 2cv accelerating....... 40c- like a ferrari on steroids accelerating!

I now tend to think of the C rating as how much power it puts out at once. 10c - gentle power output, like a citroen 2cv accelerating....... 40c- like a ferrari on steroids accelerating! The only thing that I have read regarding the c rating which is contrary to that, is something about if the c rating is too low and the electronics trying to draw too much power, it can put the battery in danger of swelling and worse. Have I just made this up in my head from bits and pieces I have put together incorrectly? Did I see this? I dont know for sure but I have a nagging doubt I did. That was my concern for that battery with that motor. Anyone shed any light on this? Apologies if this info is easy to find but I haven't been able to find it. Thanks, John

Looked into your motor. On an 11x7, with a 40 amp esc, your motor should put out about 340 watts! Most of the peeps on GC forum seem to be using 3300 mah lipos, so these are perfect for you!

John, You may struggle to get a 3300Mah into your cub. For reference I have the XYH 35-36 1100Kv in the Gemini spinning an APCe 10x5 giving ~250W, more than enough for that bird and the SC I suspect. I run that on 2250 20C LoongMax packs with no problem. Limited WOT though but extended would mean I'd lose sight of it in no time at all! A pack will put out as much as is demanded of it to an upper limit of what it is chemically and physically capable of. The point of the C rating and therefore the theoretical maximum output is to keep the draw to within what the manufacturer believes is relatively non-harming to the pack. Packs will deliver beyond this, but to do so they damage themselves and hence get hot and puffy.

Ging, the battery he wanted to know about was a zippyflight 2200mah lipo. He just wanted to know if it was OK to use with his XYH motor. The 3300mah lipos are what giantcod fourumites are using with their XYHs.

The 3300mah lipos are what giantcod fourumites are using with their XYHs. Yeah, and I was letting him know that he can use a 2200 20C with that motor, albeit the prop size (as always) has a bearing on the current draw at WOT. As I stated, I use a 2250 (near as d**n-it the same size as the FM), with that motor without a problem. Isn't it better that he knows he can use the pack that he was asking about (prop size taken into account) rather than thinking he needs another one which is bigger and may not fit the SC? I should really fly my Gem with a 3300, but as I haven't got any and have a lot of 2250's, I use them, propped to ensure I don't kill 'em. The difference between flying on a 2200 or a 3300? A bit more oomph (not necessary for the draggy SC) and a bit more flight time (can be achieved with throttle management on the SC).
