Ahhh man!

Well, after a few more successfull flights I invited my wife to the field so I could show her my mad piloting skillz. Well, It was a little windy so I suggested we come back tomorrow. So, the next day we head back to the field and its a little windy but not too bad. I said, Ohh, I can handle this NO problem!

So I take off fine and instantly I can tell my plane is acting stupid. It keeps pulling to one side. (I had this problem before and it was the wing being on a little crooked). I landed it (Right in front of me) w00t! I picked it up and started to investigate. It seams when I move the controll stick to the left the rudder goes really far to the left and when i move the stick to the right it only goes a little bit right of center. When the stick is in the center the rudder is almost centered but not quite. I couldnt do anything to move it cause like (Its screwed into place). Trimming it with the controls did NOTHING. I fear the rudder is warped somehow. (Is this possible?)

After looking at it a little further i noticed right where the control arm connects to the rudder there is a little crease in it. I guess it must have got bent somehow so thats why its pulling to one side. UGGH!!!! HobbyZone doesnt have any in stock on the web site and the lhs doesnt have them either. Guess I will have to keep trying...

Not sure how it got damaged as I am always really carefull with the plane. Guess these things are pretty fragile tho ehh???

On the good side of the news. I did order the XPORT module. Can wait to drop some para troopers. Now if I can only find those throw on the ground poppers that explode when you throw em against the pavement. That would be awesome! lol

I bought some ground poppers the other day and rigged up a small cup that attaches to the drop module. As soon as the wind dies I will try it out.

hey man....I know this may sound stupid but I didn't notice it at first either.......is the servo loose? I had it happen before and it did exactly what you explained. Check it out.

mrmugen - I am looking at the plane right now and the servo's are in good an tight. I really thing its just the rudder itself. (Maybe when I came in for one of those AirLiner landings where I flared up the front in it might have been a little rough on the tail forcing it to bend maybe...

hmmmmm....you can make some adjustments with the rod end or take the servo arm off and make the adjustment there instead.

How would you make adjustments using the rod end? I am very new to this and love to tinker

the end of the push rod that goes from the servo to the control horn on your elev. is threaded at the end. Use it to give yourself more or less....whatever you need. Also you can take the screw out of the servo and move the arm one tooth or whatever is needed to get close. You may have stripped the servo. Even one tooth is worth replacing.

if your plane has seen any heat, such as a car in the sun it could have warped. mine did that on me after i forget it in my car one day. lol that reminds me its still sitting under a speaker, maybe its nice and flat again.

Bingo - I bet thats what it was. I did leave my plane in my car for a couple of days. It probably got warped sitting in the sun.. (DOH!) I will make sure not to do that again!

^^ good chance. in the spring i never had any problems, but one really sunny early summer day did her in. but some weight on it or you can reinforce it with something, but remember anything you add that far out on the tail will greatly affect the cg.
