OK so this makes 2 that I have broke. I keep breaking the screw hole ears. I am going to move to a brushless setup when I can figure out a good setup.
I epoxied the motor to the mount. We will see if this solves the problem for the time being.
can anyone recommend a good setup for brushless?

Here's another thread with several different setups and scenarios discussed. supercubclub.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=motors&action=display&thread=3382My setup was pretty inexpensive, and doesn't particularly upgrade the power of the plane from stock motor. I was given poor advice on the motor size by my local hobby store owner, but I am happy with the overall experience because the SC isn't an acrobatic plane, and I've now learned enough to have a basic understanding of electric flying. With brushless, my SC takes a better, sturdier prop now, and seems to fly a good length of time before battery voltage goes low. I used a SuperTigre ESC and the Low Voltage Cutoff has to be watched, because it takes you below recommended levels for LiPo batteries. The solution fro me was simply to buy a $10.00 LiPo battery voltage meter ( hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=6589&Product_Name=Battery_Monitor_2-6S), which has been extremely useful and I'd recommend anyway. Many seem to like Turnigy motors,as they are low cost. Look at hobbyking.com. headsuprc.com has fantastic prices on other motors and ESC's and has $2.00 shipping! This is handy, as you can order little things like better battery connector plugs, or shrink wrap or wire to extend your ESC leads, etc... (for when you realize you need it after you get started, without an extra $10.00 shipping fee like many places charge). Best of all, there is a fantastic information page where he discusses motor combos and prop setups to let you know what is acceptable for the motor you select.

Since your doinking the motor to break the mounts, do NOT buy the cheap tower pro motors. They have a really soft shaft and you'll then be bending those. LOTS of suggestions in [motor and esc] thread.
