you don't actually need any spacers at all. I use that motor mount with my 35-30 with no probs at all, with a MAS prop it clears the cowl by about 1mm. If you want extra clearance, just put a washer behind the prop. :-)

you still need to enlarge the cowl hole, but I imagine it's much easier than with the 35-36. reason being that you can still get the cowl on over the motor and prop adapter, but the prop adapter will just rub against the cowl. This makes it really easy to trace around the prop adapter by shining a torch through to the inside of the cowl through the air vent, then you can cut the hole out perfectly.
I cut the hole out with some small scissors, then smoothed and rounded the hole a bit by rolling up some coarse sandpaper, putting it through the hole, and then spinning it around opposite to the way it's rolled up to file away at the edges of the hole.
I'd recommend using MAS 9x5, 9x6 and 9x7 props on it. I've tested the 9x6 and the 9x7 with my wattmeter, and the 9x6 uses 18 amps, the 9x7 uses 20. I haven't tested the 9x5 yet, but I suspect it will just give you a bit more battery life than the other two.

Hi John, I have also ordered a 35-30, a 35-36 and a 480 brushless. Ging also recommended a 35-30. A few people have said that the 35-36 is to overpowered for the SC. ( pretty obvious if you look at the specs). I will of course try them all starting with the 35-30 ;D How did yours fly with the 35-36, could you tell me more about your setup and flightime. Would love to know what I'm getting myself into.
Thanks Ifly

this is what happens when you put a 35-36 in a cub: I realise there is no damage done by the wings, but that is completely normal. If you don't believe me, just ask the 911 commission. (OK, that's a pic of the inside of the pentagon where the wings obviously would have fallen off, but there's no damage from wings on the outside either, I just couldn't find a good pic)

Dillzio, Im with L on those feelings!! But all is forgiven if you buy the first beer when I make it down under? I unfortunately saw it all happen with my own eyes. I worked Ground Zero personally for over a year!!! I have hundreds of personal pictures that i took myself that bring me to tears every time I look at them. If you are ever in the mood to be humbled contact me privately and I would me more than willing to share them!! Back to motors, D, did you ever fly with a 35-36?

No offense taken, but what do you suppose happened to the missing 757 and passengers? Are they on a secret island, like the show Lost?
