hey everyone, I'm learning every day. while waiting for my esc replacement with your help I"ve done the Velcro mod for wings and struts, the Popsicle stick mod on the fuse and rebuilt a destroyed cow I thought was unrepairable. My problem is, now they tell me (LHS) my PZ esc/rx won't be in till SEPT 20th, i only have 5 sec of flight time this has put me over the edge. Is there an alternative replacement? How do I find the specs of my electronics, nothing in cubs manual or on-line.

the only alternative is to gut the plane out, and install a seperate Esc, Rx, and new servos. (and a ubec if you want ailerons and stuff). all the planes guts are proprietary, and the only stock replacement is available from park/hobby zone.
the super cub can use a 20-30 amp esc (the stock motor is brushed). 30 amp is only if you don't ever want to have a remote chance of overloading the esc.
spectrum makes nice Tx/Rx's, at least what i've heard. there are also a lot on ebay.
there are huge debates on servos, so i'm not going to recommend any brands other than hitec, futaba, and hobby king. hitec and futaba are top of the line, basically, and hobby king's guzzle electricity and overload becs, but are dirt cheap.
also, hobby king can take months to deliver stuff if it's on backorder, so your PZ electronics may arrive first if you order from hobby king!

:'(thanks for the feedback. they got me hostage. I'll wait till the parts come in. in the mean time I'll attempt some more cosmetic work.
