I've got my GPS tracker working now, and i'm quite impressed with it ;D This is a picture of the unit here: Dimensions: 64mm x 46mm x 17mm (1.8''x2.5''x0.65'') Weight: 50g I've got a pre paid sim card for it, that's pay-as-you-go and the credit never expires on it. Basically, you put the sim card into the GPS tracker, then whenever you want to know where it is, you call the GPS tracker, then it hangs up on you and replies by sms with a link like this: maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl-en&q=-34.815335,138.705251&ie=UTF8&z=16&iwIoc=addr&om=1speed:000.0&imei=357713006253410 With internet enabled on your mobile phone, you then just need to click on the link, and it takes you directly to a street directory on google maps with a pointer telling you where it is. No more lost planes for me! :-)

You know me mate, tight-arsed to the bone! If it's not sold by HobbyKing, you can bet that I probably bought it off ebay :-)
I'm just trying to come up with a good way of mounting it.

One tip/warning about the unit. It has a tendency to spontaneously turn it self on. When the battery gets low it sends you SMSs every 30mins, which could potentially use up the credit on your sim card.
When your not using it, safest thing is to take out the battery.

Dammm thats rubbish, we dont have that in the UK, it costs money to send sms but not to receive. I couldnt believe it when I lived in the USA for a cpl of years that it cost money to receive calls and sms. Robbery!

Here in Aus it doesn't cost anything to receive calls or SMSs. I just meant that when the GPS tracker uses it's own sim to send you the low battery warnings, it will use up the credit on that sim.

Aaaaaaah I see, understood! On that note, couldn't you get a PAYG sim on the same network as your other sim with an unlimited txt deal or free cos its same network to same network. We get alot of deals like that here.
