I would recommend the MAS 9x6, the 9x5.5 and the 10x5. APC-E style props will probably be more efficient, but will break more easily too. so should i use apc props can you give me all the links to the stuff that is this the right smaller motor www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=8481 i will need for my super cub lp or what set up you went with the smaller motor let me know thanks jay

sorry mate, I can't do all the work for you. Go to the hobbyking website, click on hardware and accessories, then click on propellers. Here's the link: www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_listCategoriesAndProducts.asp?catname=Propellers&idCategory=265&ParentCat=58The only propellers I've tested are described in detail in this thread here: supercubclub.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=sccgeneral&thread=3652&page=1As is discussed in the thread, MAS (Master Airscrew) props are known for their strength and durability, not their efficiency. As I haven't personally tested other props myself, i can't say for sure which ones will go well, and which ones will burn out your motor. The only way you can know for sure is to test them with a wattmeter: www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=10080or at least read some reviews for the 35-30 motor on hobbyking to find out what props other people found worked well www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=3883There's also a handy program called drivecalc that you can download here: www.drivecalc.de/It has the turnigy 35-30 motor in it, and over a hundred different props to choose from. If you don't put in some research yourself, you're likely to lead yourself into problems that are commonly experienced by beginners to the hobby, that can easily be avoided if you take the proper precautions. There's tonnes of information just on this website alone, but you'll also find a tonne on the web. Check out this podcast that flydiver recently discussed: supercubclub.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=ts&thread=3650&page=1#25592This website also has lots of useful information: www.stefanv.com/rcstuff/qf200209.htmlIf you don't understand all this stuff before you start putting your plane together, you risk wasting all this money on something that might catch fire the first time you try and use it.

Here is my setup all from HeadsupRc.com I love it A good set-up for the HZ Super Cub is:
450 Sport (includes 4mm prop adapter) = 20.00 32A Power Up ESC (I used a spare E-flite 30A I had) = 22.00 GWS 1060 prop = 3.25 for (2) (already had, that is the prop I used on stock cub with lipo's) (2) TP SG90 Servo (typical 9g micro servo) = 4.00 apiece Supercub motor mount they sell (same as the one pictured above) = 20.00 Total = $73.25 + 2.00 shipping Had everything within 5 days I did have to buy a Rx, Ar600 = 50.00
I use 3S lipos from 1550-2200mah 20-25C (Already had) I already had a DX7 Then I sold all my stock electronics for 60.00 so it worked out well for me.
So if you have a radio already and batteries you can do it for not much cost at all. (turn around and sell your stock electronics, and that will help) plane is faster, and funner to fly, handles much better as well with better servos. All around much more enjoyable to me.

that 40a speedy looks good. Normally I'd recommend a Plush, but considering the Sentry is a little cheaper, has all the same functions AND has a switching-BEC I'd say go with the Sentry.

buy your props and batteries from hobbyking
That motor (450 sport) is about the same power as the Turnigy 35-30, I wouldn't expect unlimited vertical unless your cub is particularly lightweight, I think a fairly lightweight cub would be around 900g with battery, so you'd want at least 1kg (36oz) of thrust for vertical performance.
If you want unlimited vertical I would stick with the Turnigy 35-36, with an 11 inch prop that motor will pull about 35amps and deliver all the thrust you need... make sure you change the bearings though, turnigy motors come with crap bearings, one hard knock to the prop shaft and the bearings wine like short-changed englishman.

Not unlimited vertical, but a world of difference. Keeps the fly fast and fun, but not does not turn the plane into a motor, with some foam attached LOL
As I noted in my original post yup I use Turnigy 2200mah 25C batteries in her no problems at all. The way my battery goes in is with velcro standing vertical against the front of the fueselage wall.

Come on Jay, give us a break mate! You've asked us many times already what the best motor is and just about everyone here has given you their opinion. There is no best choice, no one setup is particularly better than another, it all depends on what you want from your cub. A smaller motor will fly more gracefully and give you longer flight times, a bigger motor will give you more speed, but also add weight and reduce flight times. If you want to reinforce it and cover it in iron-on film then you'll prob want a 480 sized motor or a 35-36, otherwise just go with the Turnigy 35-30c or the 450sport from headsuprc. NorCal has this motor which looks pretty good, about as good as you'll find for the price: www.hobbypartz.com/alpha-480--1020kv--outrunner-brushless-motor.htmlThis is a larger motor from headsuprc, and seems to be ever more powerful than the 35-36c: www.headsuprc.com/servlet/the-1530/Power-Up-480-Plus/Detailand the links for the Turnigy 35-36c and the headsuprc 450sport are listed above. Just hurry up and pick something already! You're upgrading from a brushed motor, every motor I've just mentioned here is going to seem fantastic in comparison. If you have any new questions then please feel free to ask and I'll be happy to help, but I swear to god, if you ask another question that you've already asked more than once before i'm going to track you down and fart in your mouth while you sleep.
