I've had no problems with the bolt on wing - not as forgiving as rubber bands - but I have been flying for a few years

I prefer removing dihedral with ailerons. Dihedral + ailerons + cub = sluggish in in my opinion. When I tried ailerons+dihedral, it reminded me of the rudder only controls. It also doesn't allow for very Axial rolls. Out of interest what method did you use for removing dihedral...Did you cut a v out of the foam either side of where the wings meet the fuse & glue or did you just use weight to flatten it? Thanks, John The method I used is here: supercubclub.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=gotopost&board=pb&thread=2948&post=20943Basically, once the spars are in, they're that tight a fit that you can bend the dihedral as flat as you want, and it will stay where you bend it. I used a combination between using the spars to hold it in place, and using some 1.25kg weights. I tried getting rid of the dihedral with tape, but that didn't work. The tape just makes the wing bow, you need to bend out the dihedral as close to the centre of the wing as you can to avoid bowing it. Its gonna be a while before I get to the stage of trying the film out, so I will post a pic of it against a black background for you to see when it arrives. Matt or gloss black dill? John It's profilm black, so it's sort of shiny. I've got a picture of when the fuselage was about halfway done here: supercubclub.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=gotopost&board=pb&thread=2948&post=21414

This bolts versus rubber bands has got me to thinking. I really dont like the look of the bands nor lining my wing up every time I fly as I understand its not a good idea to leave the bands on. This got me to thinking perhaps I could work out a way of using a bolt but where it screws into the nut, where the nut is attached in the fuse ( I have ordered the dubro wing mount bolt kit), that perhaps this could be internally attached in the fuse with some bands in order to give the nicer look of a bolt on wing but still have some of the forgiveness of rubber bands. I have some ideas how I may achieve this, but not sure if it is achievable. Hope this makes sense. hmmm why even use the bolt, perhaps attach wing internally via rubber bands! Just a thought.
