Is it standard practice to use thread lock on motor and mount screws? If yes what make do people use?
Many thanks, John

For a stock cub metal screw goes through plastic or foam. Plastic is sufficient and threadlock on foam is worthless.
It's useful for tiny metal grub screws in metal, like for motor mounts. Then use blue, red is too aggressive.
If you want an education do a search on loctite and find out how many different kinds there are-AMAZING.

I find a dap of CA glue works well for securing threads, seems to be about as strong as the semi-permanent threadlock.
Threadlock on the little screws that hold the motor into the gearbox are a good idea, particularly since if you over tighten those screws they'll rip through the gearbox. The 4 screws that hold the gearbox to the firewall seem pretty solid, long screws into tight fitting plastic holes, I wouldn't bother threadlocking them

Thanks for the input dill, I might just give that a try where the motor screws to the mount.
