Seriously expensive, quality parts with serious power. Probably set you back as much as a complete Cub. Go for it.

There's always the TowerPro cheap track..... ;D Really, that's good stuff. My ESC of preference is Castle. You can easily get by with a 36A. You won't be flying WOT much. eFlite motors are good products and more efficient than the cheap clone stuff but you pay for it. Do some shopping for used on the groups and you can pick both up for 1/2-3/4 the cost. As more desirable items they retain their cost better. The motor mount looks superior to most of the after market jobs. Not likely to get used there.

Its a nice mount very well made. I just bought 2 one for the cub and one for the spit, the same mount takes a turnigy 35-36 too. I know he lists them seperately but they're the same mount I emailed him also the spitfire one is identical too.
I have gone for turnigy clones made by XYH as well as a hobbywing 40a esc all from giantcod in the uk as recommended by ginginho

this is my moto moun't, for the park 450 though sorry it's really blurry. but it's made of two 90* aluminum peices with some type of epoxy that they use in turbines. Have you ever thought about the word turbine? We (many Arizona peoples) pronounce it turbine(terbine) when on a plane but turbine(terbin) when in a power plant. At least thats the way the people I know do it. and another thing. about the park 480 (kind of random, but somwhat relevent) I have a friend that is running a park 480 in a rock crawler, and that thing is fast! only pulls 6 amps with a 32 tooth pinion and i think a 42 tooth spur, not quite sure though. The 480 is a great motor from seeing it in action (on planes) and the 450 is great too. I wish I had gotten the 480 for $7 more

Seriously expensive, quality parts with serious power. Probably set you back as much as a complete Cub. Go for it. Yeah, good point. Have to agree with that, use a reasonable motor and the saved cash can go towards your next bird. A Turnigy (Hextronic/XYH/other names) fit the bill, but are "behind the firewall" mounts. The budget power house of choice for many, I have one in my Gemini, it works well. A Suppo (as sold by Grayson/BP hobbies/Jeff @ headsup) mount the same as the park motors and are again reasonable quality. Check the Grayson 2217 thread, I posted a link to another US seller of those in there. I've got a couple of these that drag the Twinny around without a problem, a mate has fitted the same and is equally satified with them. I've also heard E-Max motors are pretty good motors but I haven't used one of those (yet!). It's always worth remembering that while we may be fairly competent pilots, we are still capable of a dumb thumb moment which has the potential to ruin a motor, so putting top notch kit in the SC may be a false economy. If you can get them in your neck of the woods, I highly recommend the HobbyWing ESCs (from a known source, not Ebay). Very good vaule for money, highly programmable and reliable. I have 5 of different sizes that work faultlessly, unlike some others that I've tried. Even some of the "kit snobs" in the UK are moving over to these in their smaller aircraft (the likes of foamies from HZ, E-flite, Phase3, MPX etc.) instead of getting the likes of Jeti at three times the price. It's your choice tho, I've no doubt you'll get good service from these parts. Whether you'll notice any difference versus resonable budget gear is another question. Just my 2d's worth.

Good advice on alternatives. There is a huge field of options full confusing specs. The heaps of advice coming from people that barely know what they are talking about just make the choices harder in a lot of ways. You know the type, 5 flights and 20 crashes ahead of you, but well meaning and enthusiastic as all get out. It seems to drive people to cheap out (easy choice), or suck up and get the well regarded gear. Sorting the decent from the bad in the landslide of cheap Chinese components is a formidable task. Most people on this forum think Eflite is expensive. They've probably never even heard of Axi, Hacker or Neu. Here's a motor and ESC that are decent and cost less than just the Eflite motor: okhobby.com/product.php?id_product=772okhobby.com/product.php?id_product=823You could downsize a tad too on both for more modest power. They also have the Battman charger which seems to be a successful AC-6 clone of a clone (haha). okhobby.com/product.php?id_product=823Their lipos appear to be the same stock as Hobby King (HK makes NOTHING as far as I can tell) Turnigy/zippy/Rhino/etc are just re-brand. Similar Suppo are a notable cut above TowePro. A number of the 'better' motors HeadsUpRC sells are fine (not TP). DON'T get the PowerUp ESC that are Mag8 (TP also-they suck). His 'better ones' are Suppo (Jeti clones) and OK. I could do this all day. Like I said, it's confusing until you've been in it awhile and learned how to sort it out.

I have ordered a mount from customrcparts.com previously and the guy is very cool. I got along with him well and his shipping was very fast, the mount i received is flawless(i got the t-28 3536c mount) and VERY nice. Anodized aluminum, very sharp.
