Sorry to take so long to report on the maiden but I can not put it down. I just love this plane and it is a great second plane. Since I got it I have also upgraded my SC to LiPo and a MA 10x8e prop. Wow what a rocket. Now I go to the flying field with two planes.
I might add that I have also added a 4ch radio and a Turnigy 30A esc with home made ailerons some time ago. the cub is awesome with ailerons.
The T28 can do some 3D flying with a lot of tricks in the bag. It can also float almost as slowly as the SC. Landing is just a little hotter for fear of stalling but the tricycle landing gear makes your first landing look professional.
My first flight went very well. I Started out with a little trimming and a few large circles at varying speeds and once I did some of that I felt very comfortable. So immediately began to check the climb rate and topped it off with a hammerhead and then went for the immelmann followed by a split s and a few rolls. Then some spins, knife edge and a blender. Things I could sort of do with the sc but this plane can do them well. I did all of this in my first flight!
That is why this is a great plane to fly after mastering the sc (even better if you had added ailerons) So far I have about 30+ flights in the T28 without any major mishaps other than a forced landing. (lost track of time on the LiPo and lost power). this plane lands a little rough flown dead stick. It lands well at around 1/8 throttle or about 2 clicks past the point when the motor just starts turning. I was still able to float it in nice and slow but I had a bad approach and landed on a part of the road that sloped downward. Bounced like 6 times before resting. no harm done but a close call none the less.
I guess I will have to bring an egg timer with me to the field to tell me when to land LOL. flight time on the Zippy 2200 25c is about 18 minuets of hard flying on the stock prop. I have mounted the MA 10x8 on it too and have not flown with it yet. I'll get to that in the next post.

Nice one, sounds like you are having some great times. If you've a wattmeter, check the power in when you swap to the 10x8. You wouldn't want to lose this bird to a power failure.

I have found some other threads on the subject of a bigger prop and have found some people flying the MA 10x7x3 at around 22 amps.
I have no meter but I do only have a two blade prop.
I'll se if I can borrow one.
thanks for the advice.

I fly the MAS 10x7x3 on mine. Lower top end speed but more thrust.

T-28 is a lot of fun! You're right about just a little power on for landing it, ast least as far as I've figured out. It does float amazingly well, and is oh so fun when you manage to grease one in!
