My Super cub is on it's way from the UK, ;D should be here by the weekend. Spare props and battery ordered. I am getting nervous, my first R/C plane flight is only days away, I would like to hear how your first flight turned out with the SC.

Paul good luck with your first flight. I had more trouble taking off from the ground (ground looped) than when I actually got into the air.
I will be gone on vacation until the beginning of next week so I will be looking forward to seeing the post on your first flight.
Dont' get too discouraged if you crash we've all done it.

Paul, My first flight, and only flight so far I am just slightly less new to this than you, was nothing I expected. I expected troubles, crashes, glitches and nothing like the simulator maybe exactly what you are thinking right now.
To my amazement the SC just took off from the ground nearly on it's own with minimal imput from me. The flight lasted about 10 minutes and was awesome, plane is stable and easy to control, easier than the simulator I thought. After landing I took off a second time to have the motor cut out because the battery was exhausted, as a newbie encountering a dead stick on maiden day I thought there would be trouble but again minimal imput from me and the SC landed itself.
Have a great first flight. This is my first experience with my own plane and I am impressed with the product HobbyZone has provided us.

Thanks Wayne for the encouragement. I cannot wait for the maiden flight. The thing i love about this hobby is the adrenalin rush. I have been flying heli's for a couple of years and i still get that feeling everytime i fly. ;D

Paul, I started by doing taxi testing on a hard dirt road. The tail wheel is attached to the rudder which gives you a feeling for steering control in flight. After about 10 runs up and down the road it lifted off and I flew it back to the house. A decent landing too boot! Just avoid large control inputs, just twitch it. You've flown heli's so you should know all about that. Have a good time the SC will not let you down! Andy

Thanks Andy for the info. I would like to take off from the ground for my first few flights, as i would feel more comfortable with both hands on the TX. If i don't find a suitable bit of ground then hand launch it will be.

Hey Paul: Goood luck and God speed! You'll do fine! If you need to hand launch, you may want to have a friend gently launch it for you. That way,for your first couple solos, you'll have complete control from the start, and the tendancy to "over control" will be less. Look forward to hearin' about it.Remember, your cub is guaranteed to land, everytime!!!

The SC has landed. Arrived this afternoon. Went together like a dream, powered her up and everything looks good. Trims were spot on at center, maybe i will have to do a bit of trimming if she stays in the air long enough. ;D. Batterys are now getting a full charge for tomorrow. CHOCKS AWAY!!!

Interesting day. Decided to use one battery for getting a feel of it on the ground. I was enjoying driving it around very responsive. On one of the runs it hit a stone or something and nosed over into a puddle, no damage just a little wet. Decided to give it a test whilst holding the cub, gave it full throttle and the motor was half the speed it should be plus it was pulsing or hunting, and the elevator was going crazy.. . After a little head scratching i decided to call it a day and check it out at home. Ok. After checking motor was dry i decided to make sure all plugs were firmly in place. Everything was good. Then i decided to unplug the ACT cables, no change. I then took out the X-port plug and BINGO Problem gone.. ;D Firmly put the plug back in and the problem was back. I then looked at the X-port plug under the SC, and there was my problem. Water in the plug, blew it out and everything back to normal. Back out tomorrow and hopefully airborne.

SCC.. I found it to be helpful during a hand launch to take a few steps and release the plane. My very first flight resulted in a nose dive, broken prop and a shattered cowl. It helps a great deal to get your ground speed up before you release the plane. ROG can be a little tricky especially with a little wind.

Congragulations!!! After reading your earlier post I was worried that maybe your plane had some issues and you would have to send it back.

Nice job! I like the decals. So you have perma-grin eh!? Good! Your officially hooked for life! It is hard to understand the ease of use of this bird unless you go out and fly it. Glad it was successful for you.
