Hey all I've been thinking about resurrecting the cub. Had the ESC catch on fire. I got the fire out pretty quickly and only a little foam melted away. I have a extra motor and ESC on a plane that I just didn't like the way it flew. What I have is the A2208/12 would this work in my super cub?http://www.suppomodel.com/ It's the A2208/12 1800KV A2208/12 AUW range is 200 - 500 g 2 or 3 cell lipo. I was thinking of using a 2 cell lipo on a ubec for power and a regular receiver pack for the receiver and servos.
Thanks

That motor isn't the biggest and as its quite a high Kv, you'll have to use a smaller prop than stock. A couple of quick calculations: For a 2S Lipo pack let's say 8V. The motor will be about 70% efficient at best, so a burst of 16A (60sec) WOT will be 16x8x0.7= nearly 90 Watts in. Pretty much in the same ball park as the original SC with stock 7cell Nihm IIRC. You'd get a bit more power in using a 3 cell pack but will have to prop down to ensure you don't draw too much current. You may get out a bit more than on a 2s, but both setups would really require a very good prop/motor combo to get the most out of the (rather limited) setup. Will it fly? Probably. Will it be what you are after? I don't know.

Thanks. Looking at the plane I was going to take it out of it's much smaller than the cub. I'll find another home for that little motor somewhere.
