Very well done! But how do you get those "big mitts" of yours to open and close them??

Actually, I open the initially and leave just them opened. It ain't easy, so I just do it once. :-)
Believe it or not, I have used some needle-nosed pliers in the past when I used these same things for another camera mod idea. You would not believe how many times my big mitts had to deal with putting those small screws into the holes of these clips and then screw those darn screws into the battery box frame on the fuselage. :-)

My mod is simple pan-head screws. Never failed me, just a 1/4 turn and they are off or on.

Looks like cabinet hardware. What size threads are on them?

Looks like cabinet hardware. What size threads are on them? Scientifically speaking??? Whatever fit. I took the battery box assembly with me to size and measure. Got a gaggle of screws and such. It has been a while so i don't recall what the exact size was but cabinet hardware sounds about right. I had a strut with me as well which i measured the opening by playing around with various metal hardware.

I picked up some small eyelet screws to try out. I didn't have my battery box with me at the time to measure the opening correctly, but was just guessing. They were a size 5/16" or #212. Very close to the correct size, but just a tad bit too large for the opening of the strut hole. They can easily be squeezed in my vise to make them oblong and then work, but at this point I sort of like the barrel ones I had already installed. The eyelets will be around for spares in the future though.
