It really isn't that bad. It's a 480-sized motor which is pretty d**n good but the problems are the weight and the rest of the electronics, to say the least.
Now, my TP combo came in 100% defect free and the prop works great AND the Mag-8 ESC you hate so much has never been even warm.
But, I must admit, that was good luck for me. Many have bad experiences with TP and their low quality stuff. I must say that if I had to do it again I would spend the extra $30 to get a Turnigy 35-36 and Plush ESC with the TGY motor mount. But I was dead-broke back then and needed to upgrade to BL ASAP.As far as MY PERSONAL experience with TowerPro: excellent.
Would I recommend it NOW to anyone? Not so much.
For new SC fliers: do NOT upgrade your motor just because others say so; it's a great powerplant. The previous problem was the battery and that's been taken care of.
