After finally selecting the motor I want (the 2836-11), I've just discovered that headsuprc only ships to the US and Canada. Since I find myself in Australia, I find this predicament to be decidedly inconvenient.
I was wondering if any of my US friends from the club here could check how much it would be to have a motor send to them, so they could then forward it to me. If I find someone that's willing, and it's not too expensive paying two lots of shipping, I'd still like to go with the same motor.
Thanks heaps,
-Dill

That's true, badlands. And you could even go with a 30 A plush instead. I run a 20A Mag 8 and it's enough for my TP motor.

Yeah, but I'm tempted to lay off of Turnigy, they just seem a bit cheap and nasty, although I have had my eye on the Turnigy 35-30 for a while. Also, if i get a motor from headsuprc I can get all the spare shafts and prop adaptors I need, I'm a bit worried that the Turnigy motors will be hard to get parts for, like the rotor end prop adapter for example. That motor you listed seems a bit overpowered for the cub too, and at 100g it only leaves you 50g for the motor mount before you end up heavier than the stock motor. This is the ESC I've picked out, it's only $9 www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=6458Erwin, thanks for the offer to get a motor for me! That alpha 480 certainly looks like a great buy, but it's a bit bigger and more powerful that what I'm after really. How much is it for you to get a headsuprc motor sent to you? I should be able to work out how much it is to send it from Florida to South Australia. Another motor I'm interested in is the Emax BL2215/25, it's only like $17 from ebay, although it's a little smaller than the 2836 that I wanted: www.tedani.com/emax-bl221525-outrunner-brushless-motors-950kv-p-970.html

The Turnigy motors are the same quality as the HeadsUpRC ones and come with all the parts like nuts, prop adapter, and aluminum mount. HeadsUpRC is just run by one dude from his Ocala, Florida home. He's just cheaper and faster for us US buyers for shipping.
That said, shipping to me should be cheap if not flat rate since I'm in the same state. PM me your AUS address and I'll work out the best and cheapest methods for shipping to you.
Continue shipping communications through PM.

That Turnigy 35/30 motor is looking very tempting, again! I'm already getting a bunch of stuff from HK, so the postage would basically be free, and it's only a few grams heavier than that 28-36 from headsup that I wanted. I've seen a review of it here that shows it to be very powerful, and they also do a very nice job mounting it: www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=990956Apparently it's solid up to 25a, and that's what the data shows for it on drivecalc too. Actually, all the quoted power usages with different props I've seen are pretty close to what drivecalc comes up with, and it seems that the motor will run nicely on my current collection of props (9x6, 9x7, 10x6). You can also get spare mounts for it for only $5 too.

What's shipping like from the UK to Oz?

I've got some wheels from BRC hobbies before and shipping for that was really cheap.

I've got some wheels from BRC hobbies before and shipping for that was really cheap. There maybe your answer. Look at www.giantcod.co.uk (XYH) for the cheapest list price. Other sites that sell those are 4-max.co.uk (Purple power), Pheonixmp.com (Overlander) or robotbirds (Value). They all sell that manufacturer's motors, under different names. BRC may even do 'em, I can't be @rsed to check for you.

It's a nice looking motor alright, it looks very similar in size/weight/specs to the 2836/11 from Headsup I wanted, but it seems to be capable of handling MUCH more power!
The Turnigy 35-30 is just a little heavier, but I expect the two motors would perform very similarly. I think the Turnigy will be a cheaper option to me as I'll already paying postage on a radio from hobbyking anyway.
