With my newly promoted rank to squadron leader I figured one plane is hardly a squadron and my Cubby was getting kinda lonely in the hangar.......... So I finally got the plane of my dreams today, the MkI supermarine spitfire. If I'm honest I'm not too happy about the colours but figure I can do a paint/decal job on it soon. The stock electrics are all pretty lame (albeit non existent) and it has no rudder/elevator nor ailerons. I do however aim to upgrade all of these as soon as cash allows. I would be extremely grateful if anyone can point me in the right direction as to what electronics, rx, esc, motor etc I should install. Infact any tips would be great. Anyway I maiden'd her today and she's pretty nippy, so fast in fact it was difficult to keep the camera on her. I did however manage a hand launch flight and perfectly safe fuse landing (albeit on a hill). This model has no landing gear either, I plan to add retracts too. Easy up on the throttle there buddy, you don't want to loose site of your plane there!
Loosing one's plane can lead to all sorts of unpleasant situations, trust me I know.

Luckily, it landed on the sofa and not in a bath house. I had a quick look around when you panned back over to her to make sure there were no inappropriate gay acts happening in the background. Can really ruin/enhance a maiden flight depending where you are coming from on the issue.  |

3-D fliers. Such show-offs. I guess this can "prop hang" too right?
Probably has some fancy/smanshy TX too..

As for the TX put your thumb against your forefinger, now pull them apart leaving about a 1.5mm gap.....Now your seeing the TX, so I guess you could call it prrrrrrrrrrety fancy! |
