Hi all, would appreciate if someone could post a link to removing ACT, when I search the term "Remove ACT" I get the following msg.......
"The following search terms were removed because they were less than 4 characters long:
* act" Apologies if this is a stupid question.
Thanks, John

It's not hard John. Just unplug the sensor leads from the top of the receiver. They have red and black wires. Then I just used a pair of pliers and pulled the sensors out from the top and bottom of the fuselage. I covered the hole on the "windshield" with a piece of electrical tape. I haven't done anything to the hole on the bottom.
The sensors had a little bit of glue on them holding them in. It didn't require much force to pull them out though. Saved about 3 grams of weight and less clutter inside the fuse.
Didn't take any pictures though. Sorry.

I do what I can for my friends across the pond. I really need to get over there sometime. I seriously want to see the UK. Golf in England, Scotland, and my ancesteral home of Ireland would be a dream come true. Not to mention the beautiful countryside abd all the castles you guys live in. Skiv

After ACT removal, I removed the black tube from the bottom of the fuse and filled with hot glue. I was tired of looking at the black hole. No much savings in regards to weight but sure does look better. Castles. Yep, I would like a moat. Any archers John? I live along the southeast coast US. So we are barefooted and wear a wooden keg via suspenders. ;D

No moat, no archers that I've seen yet (moved here july 31st last year, so may have missed their season), lots of green wellys and shotguns though. I think I know the look you're talking about, I've seen "Deliverance", is it like that? John

Removed mine during repairs. It was actually never turned on. Which would be saying something if there were not pictures of my plane in a heap pile in the crashed thread. It definitely would not have helped in my crash anyway. My guess is most of us crash within a few feet from the ground or into something anyway.

Pretty sure he meant more along these lines: than these lines: LOL. Archers, a mote, a castle and an inbred kid playing dueling banjos sitting above the draw bridge. Best of both worlds...lol. better yet these guys w/ bow and arrows: what a great movie....lol

LOL! That movie (deliverance) even scares us here! The only difference now is that we stalk the tourists with GPS' and communicate with Blackberrys. ;D Yep, were pegged for life after that portrayal. Like a lot of other areas, a good tip is to keep in good with the few (well, several) that are crazier than yourself. ;D Yea, I was thinking about the "archers" that protect the castle. I guess those jobs are now scarce too:D Lousy economy.. Major, I am still laughing. ;D Monty Python nails my image. And the buck-toothed kid, oh sorry, inbred kid makes it. Just kidding guys. Good to be able to laugh at our own stereotypes.

glad you saw the pics parrot before I accidentally deleted em lol...they have been restored. Where exactly are you anyway?
I lived in Tennessee in the army and we were in Alabama every weekend almost visiting my wife's hillbilly aunt and uncle. lol they were really hillbillies. He was raised in a shack on a river near a mountain with 12 brothers and sisters. He had dentures that he didn't wear around us and chewed a big mouth full of "chaw" and drank moonshine which he made in his still...lol. no lie. They are good people though and much more high tech than you would give em credit for. He retired airforce and went right back to his farming roots.
Anyway, I've been all over and I love the southeast. Would also love to jump the pond at some point althouigh i'm afraid I would be the hillbilly then. ;P

Eastern NC. Greenville. Great area. I enjoy the weather, people, and all the coastal waterways. Actually, I'm a transplant from eastern shore Maryland. Many moons ago. I bounced around several different states and landed back here. Hey, I too have spent some time in rural deep south. They called ME "yankee boy from NC". They took me "grappling". Still carry a long scar down my back from that excursion. Strange days indeed. Though friends with these folks and they are with you for life. They are fiercly loyal to thier family and friends. Never meet anyone quite like them since. I used to spend time in Memphis years ago. A few times drive south to Tunica MS to "little Vegas". Again, many moons ago.

I like to blame the wind. Sometimes it's true, the wind changes direction/speed quickly sometimes near the ground, and pushes a wing up and CRASH! Happened to me yesterday. Honest.
