Hi all, I emailed Jeff from HeadsupRC to ask him if the 2830-11 motor has a reversible shaft, and he said the manufacturers didn't recommend reversing it, but the rotor-side prop adapters work fine. I told him that it was for a Cub, and he told me that he has a setup that he recommends, and he uses it on his cub. This is it: Here is the setup that I use on my Super Cub, and it works great: 2409-18T motor 20A ESC GWS1060 prop 11.1v 1800 20C Lipo battery I've attached some pictures to show you how I mounted the motor. Those are '3/8 inch nylon stand-offs' I used to create the mount, and they are available in various lengths at many hardware stores. We will be selling them soon, as well. Take care, Jeff Heads Up RC Jeff Heads Up RC Attachments:

I wouldn't use the bm/tower pro motor. I'd use the purple 2830 or the next size up.

I agree with Vega. The 2830 would improve performance over stock or the 2836 if you want a bit more go. These motors are actually XYH badged, many other sellers do this too (e.g. Turnigy 2830, 2836). Similarly, there are a couple of Powerup motors that are equivalent that you could use, these (the larger ones) are known as Suppo and again can be found on numerous sites, with different names. If you are concerned about mounting a purple one, do as Jeff suggests (rotor side mount) or get something akin to this or this.

I've been using the Heads Up 2836-11 or the 3530-11 and really like the power. Also they standup better then the weak shaft on the 2409- 18Ts. Problem is you need to get large enough ESC and Batteries with a rating of 25C or better

Thanks for the tip Ken.
If you're using a 2200mah battery, you only need 15-20C don't you? A 15C 2200mah is rated to 33amps. I know that to get that much from a 1500mah battery you'd need over 20C, but with a large capacity battery it's not so important to have a high C rating, is it?
