Hello from an absolute Newbie...have had a Piper Cub for abt 2 years now. As most know the original connectors for the plane, batteries, and chargers are absolutely junk. And I have had my share of problems with such. I can hear the power cutting in/out on almost all my videos. When changing the connectors to something better, I was concerned about losing too much wire length...I wanted to save as much as possible. Cutting off the original connectors results in losing some amount of wire length, and in the case of batteries they get really short. So..... I had an old set of TV 'rabbit-ears'.....and to me, each segment of them looked like an individual pin-extractor, the likes of which used to cost about $20 back in my old electronics days. So, I cut it apart, and lo-and-behold.....I wound up with some really good pin-extraction tools. not perfect, but not $20 each either. Lots of sizes, and lots of possibilities...Works for me! Anyway, I converted my Cub to use computer-style connectors, since I had a boat-load of these from scrapping old PCs. They fight very tight, and so far no more throttle cut-out. So, save those old rabbit ears or antennaes from boom-boxes... they have tools you might be able to use....

Hi Cassflyer & welcome to the forum.
I dont understand what you are talking about, what would one use these pin extracor tools for and can you post a picture of the item they are from and how they are used?
Many thanks, John

Hi Cass, welcome. I think I understand what you are getting at, and it's a very good idea. I believe you use a piece of the TV aerial to slip over the pins in the Tamiya connectors so you can release the retaining clip and slide the pin out or the plastic connector. Is that the idea?
