well that won't start any debates. I'm actually considering the bnf mustang for my second plane. I'm in no way ready for it yet but hoping within the next couple of months to give it a go. I would buy the t-28d bnf but its way more expensive for some reason...guess its those wheel things and that fat cowl that does it Otherwise it's the same bird as far as i know... And does that mean you are getting a trojan to replace your cubby Dillzio?

I haven't decided yet if i'm getting a Trojan instead of the Cub. One of the reasons I posted on that board was to see what the T-28 people thought about it. Building a T-28 from the parts could be a good idea, there's tonnes of money to be saved on the electronics of those planes, the stock motor, ESC and servos are so expensive! I've always had a soft spot for the spitfire I must stay. If it wasn't for that little plane we'd probably all be speaking German, and plus my Grandad flew them too It's just that the T-28 is well known as a good second aircraft, after you learn on a cub, and I'm not sure if a spitfire would be as forgiving as the T-28.

Would be great if you have any pics of him and the Spits you could scan and upload? John

My granddad was actually a flight instructor, he used to teach navigation to the recon pilots. Apparently there was a recon version of the spitfire that he used to teach them in. I interviewed him once about the war, and he told me about how he used to feel guilty because he had such a cushey job, and he was training kids for such a dangerous job - he saw a few of them die before they left the flight school too in landing accidents ect. Not too sure about any pics of him with the planes, I've never seen any, but it's worth asking my grandma about that

Any pics that could be found would be great to see. John

Have any of you actually built a T-28 from the parts before? If so, is it much harder than building a cub?
I know to build a cub you need fuselage, wing, tail, landing gear, cowl, motor/gearbox, ESC/receiver, servos, pushrods and control horns. Does the T-28 have any additional parts that you have to get to scratch build a plane?
Also, does the T-28 use one servo or two for the ailerons?
cheers, -Dill

The PKZ T-28 is an awesome move for your next airplane. It is a stable flyer, and is easy to take-off and land with its tricycle gear. I have several that have been modified with nav lights, flaps, motors, escs. I always like to fly it over my other airplanes (pkz f4u, pkz bf-109) etc. However the only choices you have are the bnf, or the pnp. So you will have to have a spektrum radio (you can find a dx5e for cheap) for bnf, or your own tx and rx. No matter what you decide you will not regret it! ;D
