they haven't had deans on the flightmax battery's for awhile, original because deans are only rated at 60ish amps and the bigger batterys can push over 150amps. good thing i accidentally ordered 4 bags of the HC t connectors with the grips i guess.

Did you get those textured ones? How are they? Some of the clones I've gotten are not very good. I haven't ordered any of the HC ones assuming they are crummy. Most of the 'little connectors of various sorts' I've sampled from them have been a disappointment. Not that it matters-too late now it would seem.

I get my LM's from elsewhere so am not affected by this, I do however like the last statement I read : "Give a crackmonkey a soldering iron and he'll melt anything I guess."

"crackmonkey" LOL ;D It is a sort of a pain, can surely see it from Deans point of view (work to establish a market just to watch it slip away). Got in the habit of just buying the real Deans male plugs at the LHS , and settling for the knock off on the battery. Like my plane, the gravy train has crashed.

the htx i think were better then deans, the plastics didnt melt as easy, they were a bit stiffer to get apart which i liked, and the texture on them made it easy to get them apart. also unlike other knock offs they had the polarity marked.

Just ordered 5 more batteris from HC. Noticed that the the price was down about $2 each. Don't know if that's because of their reduced cost (skip the connector) or maybe HC is trying to keep their customers happy and the price will slowly go back up. Whatever, I'll keep getting batteries from them (unless their quality nose dives) Did notice that 3 of their Zippy Flight Max batteries (2200 mah) are more like Parkzone 1800s. What's that saying? Buyer Beware...

For what its worth: on the 17th I received 4 batteries from HC that I had ordered on the 2nd, 2 weeks delivery time (I can live with that). In all four batteries each of the 3 cells were within .02 volts of each other and have balanced great, so far (all cells at 4.2 volts). The 2 Rhino batteries came with E3 connectors (or a HC knock off) on them and the 2 Zippy Flightmax batteries had the knock off Deans on them (I thought I would have to solder on 4 connectors, now it's just 2) And I ended up paying about 1/3 the price of buying similar mah batteries at my LHS.

cant beat HC for batteries or most anything else. big retailers need to realize the price for lipo technology has come down now. people like thunder power are so far off in price now its ridiculous. the only difference ive found in the quality of the chinese cells is that they weigh a bit more but its so nominal it doesnt make a difference

I just received a new Zippy flightmax 2200 From HC a week or so ago. They must be selling off old stock, since it still had a Deans on it.
I've got EC3s to put on it to match everything else I have. The price, for the Battery, A Turnigy Balancing charger, And a turnnigy Brushless outrunner, was less than a single PZ 1800 Mah from the LHS.
I balanced the Zippy when I got it, and the cells still read within 5% of each other. I balanced my PZ pack at the same time, and its down 45% on the #2 cell The PZ pack has only 2 short flights on it.

It's pretty hard to go up against any chinese company, because, in a communist country, the government (AKA the People) owns everything. No individual actually owns anything. Hence, no person can hold a patent or trade mark. Hence all other patents and trademarks obtained by the state, are property of the state.
They have fingers and toes in everything, and many millions of people backing them up.
Even Microsoft hasn't been able to break that hold.
