They make the brushless electric motor an option for the camel. I can't see why you would want to electrify such a large plane though.
A large rough running 4 stroke sounds just like a minature Le Rhone 9J rotory engine at low to mid range RPM and the flight times are about 20 minutes then land add some fuel and off you go again. The exsaust dumps underneath so there is no oil residue on the plane. I can swing a much larger wooden prop which is closer to the scale size. Plenty of power and not very exspensive.
A large electric version would be almost twice as exspensive with only 1 battery. It would fly for 10 minutes and cool for another 20 then charge for 1 hr. No sound or smoke and a smaller prop. The plane would be heavier. I couldn't have a full co-ckpit because of where the batteries sit. Large Lipoly batteries can be very dangerous if you are not very careful with them.
Electric has a lot of benifits in the right plane but I only use it in the smaller ones. The batteries are cheap enough to have several for repeated flights so flight time is similar. Small glow engines can be contankerous at times, electric power is just a flick of the switch. Small glow planes get oily while electric is clean. You can't beat the sound of the right 4 stroke. i think the Saitos sound the best. I have an unmuffled saito 1.00 4 stroke in my P-40 that will make you drool and I am putting a pair of Saito 3 cylinder Radials in my B-25. They sound unbelievable!
