This beautiful Spit belongs to a mate. 72" wingspan and he has adapted it for electric. It has a Benedini sound system installed, which sounds amazing. The maiden will hopefully be made next week, I cannot wait. Size comparison with a Ripmax Spit Under the hood. Speakers for the sound system are hidden under the rads, one in each wing. Canopy got blown off in a quick throttle test. Keith looking mean.

Love the pneumatic retracts! Bet it flies well. Remember it is a warbird when taking off.....get the speed up before leaving earth.

What's the sound system for, weapon sounds? What a beauty - looks like the gages might even work. E

What's the sound system for, weapon sounds? Hi Ellis There are weapon sounds included but its the engine sound that this system is used for. Take a look at the vids on this site. Click on the Greg covey Mustang. The P47 is a great vid too. www.aerosoundrc.com/

OMG what a mess. It took him 10minutes to get it started, the thing was covered in fuel, he had to carry a box full of fuel and starter things and he stunk

What a beauty !!!
By chance was this plane featured in a magazine ?
It looks like a build I once saw in a British RC mag, just curious .

Hi Glenn. I know the article you mean but it's not that plane.
I think my friend was in touch with the guy that built the Spit in that magazine for tips on his build.

My Herr Lil Extra is a oily mess everytime. I kind of like it though. It takes about an hour to disassemble and clean up all the planes at the field which is my favorite part other than flying. It's usually when most of us are shooting the breeze and talking up the days events. Wipe a wing and put it in a bag and off to the next..... You gotta have it on you or it don't count....thats what one old timer at our field says. Back to that lil extra....it's funny how heavy that castor is. After about 2 flights I have to add some trim in the aileron to the left to fly straight..lol. There is so much goo on the right wing it rolls becasue of it. Don't get me wrong it is not for everyone. Sorry if I hijacked your thread harder than a 80's era 747. Back to the comments on that beautiful Spit! Any chance of a video with sound? Would love to grab the popcorn and kick back and watch. Tell him he did a beautiful job in every way! Love the scale effects he added. Sure hope maiden is a success. Happy landings, Kevin

Well Mr Mugen, you just confirmed my commitment to electric or gas powered airplanes. I was actually shopping for a glow today but didn't find an engine I liked.
I'm planning a Super Cub 40 build with a70- 90 4stroke but after hearing all the issues of glow, I'm sticking to E power. Unfortunately I can't get a gasser in a 90 size glow , or i would be all over it.

It's not as bad as it sounds really. Besides have you ever been inside an electric plane? They are all internal combustion of some sort. If you route your exhaust right you will have near no clean up. My Seagul edge540 is only a touch dirty at the tail underside. Either way you go .....just do it. Fly what u got and have fun with it.

Don't get me wrong it is not for everyone. Sorry if I hijacked your thread harder than a 80's era 747. ;D ;D You hijack away. I like to hear the oily stories. Back to the comments on that beautiful Spit! Any chance of a video with sound? Would love to grab the popcorn and kick back and watch. I have a bit of vid of it running up in the garden but its without sound system. The maiden will be with sound and I promise there will be plenty of vid. I will edit the vid from the other day and put it up. Tell him he did a beautiful job in every way! Love the scale effects he added. Sure hope maiden is a success. I will pass on your comments.
