Hey,
I've flown my Super cub for 2 days and im pretty impressed. The thing is I can't believe I've never had a RC plane before and I master the plane in all its physics.. I Have not crashed, I can land it with ease, and I can Steer out of the most dangerous times. I know it kinda sounds rediculous... But im more of a vintage person. I wana learn more about RC alot so I want to make a collection. I want to look for a WW2 type plane like a BF109 or PZ fw190 that they have at my hobby shop for like $180 RTF.
Im just posting this on your guys opinion. Please no flaming or how im not thinking right lol.
Thanks, Jake

A good next step would be the T-28 Trojan. Get the T-28 and see if you are still the master. Great to hear all went very well with the cub! Or if you want a RTF the comes with a DX6i 2.4ghz radio, check this out. I paid $200.00 for my Dx6i radio www.airlandhobbies.com/catalog/1/2008061910387099729.htm

There is a Parkzone FW190 at my local hobby shop.. Im thinking of getting it, wouldnt you all agree? I play flight Sims alot and I know how to work it, this plane requires u to roll and pull up to turn which I do on the joystick for sims. And my price range is from 0 - 180 :/

Go for it. With your outstanding skills at flight I would think you could fly a warbird with your eyes closed.

There is a Parkzone FW190 at my local hobby shop.. Im thinking of getting it, wouldnt you all agree? Nope don't agree. That FW 190 is brushed and probably underpowered, gonna be hard to fly. I bought an inexpensive AT-6 Texan that had the same motor and was terrible and very hard to fly...it is brushless now. I have read many many times that the best low wing plane to "Progress to" from the Super Cub is the T-28 Trojan. It comes in RTF and PNP. But like SCC said with your outstanding flight skills.....you my choose a Spitfire!

sounds like you don't need advise...You know just what to do. You must be young...how old are you? I'm telling you ..the T-28 Trojan is 10 times the flyer vs that FW190 P.O.S.!

Im 13 and I dont know nuts about RC lol FW190 is cheaper and It should teach me a few things about Ailerons Dont worry when I buy my planes I buy every single part in advanced so I can repair did the same thing with my cub. And Im joining Eglin aero modelers (a club )

well with a lipo the brushed fw-190 is ok. its a warbird, its no were as easy to fly as the cub, you do something dumb like tipstall it and more then likely its going to the ground unless you know how to recover from it. the fw-190 is said to be one of the better flyers out of the parkzone war birds. the t-28 is a more forgiving airframe, plus its brusless powered.
the 190 might be cheaper, but if you dont have any war bird experience it might cost more after the repairs.

Jake, I am an old man compared to your 13 but I am still flying 2 of the planes that I built and flew when I was 13. I just turned 58 the 21 of Dec. I fly my beloved Super Cub more than them for it is easier to deal with. You gotta go with the T-28 for several reasons. It is brushless, comes with a decent radio( better than the SC), it will fly upside down, sideways and back wards, It is very stable, easy to repair, handles wind better, comes with LiPo battery, and looks pretty good. I know you are anxious but please take the time to learn the SAFETY issues in handling and charging of LiPo batteries. Have fun, carry on, be creative, and most of all be safe!! Cheers! Bill

Jake-until you get the NiMh and charging issues figured out don't even go NEAR lipos. You may have inherent flying talent but you have a long way to go on the electronics side.

ya i should have stated that differnt i guess. if you upgrade to lipos the stock 190 isnt too bad. but lipos take some know how or you could have quite the mess to deal with. the t-28 will come with the right charger for the lipos, and a correctly sized battery that will handle to current load the motor will draw.
