Nick, thanks for the heads up. It will be a few weeks before I do anything as I'm moving house soon. Hope to get a little flying with this nice weather, but the repairs will have to go on the back burner for now.

Paul, Are you moving to a new house or are you doing this? Either way it's a lot of work. Good luck!

Hi Todd. The roads in the UK are too narrow for that kind of move. ;D
I find it fascinating how these homes and buildings can be picked up and moved. That's definitely the kind of job I would like to do.
All the best. Paul

Hi SCC, Thought I'd necro this thread as I'm looking around for something to get myself for my birthday. Have you flown the P-51 again since? How would you rate the kit (robustness etc), and what controls are there (single alieron servo or dual, rudder ?? etc?)
It looks nice in your video but I guess it may only take one ill-judged landing to change the views of it entirely if it's flimsy foam.

Hi Nick. My honest opinion would be to pass on this model.
It looks nice and flys OK but it is very delicate and hard to make a decent repair. I managed to repair after my first incident but the next was too far gone.
It comes with a single aileron set up but its crap. The wire sticks and bends so I replaced it with two servos in the wing. I also found it a little small. Great for getting in the car but it does become a small dot when flying in very little time.
You would be better off going with a Parkzone model, airframe only and fill it with your own electronics. Another fantastic model is from the Ripmax 600 ep range which is balsa.
Out of all the warbirds I have flown the Mus is the trickiest. Keep the speed up in turns and all is good. Turn too slow and she will drop a wing and shes gone.
Regards Paul
