Hey, Is this the correct battery for my plane? 8.4V 1000mAh Ni-MH - HBZ1013 or HOBB1000? My hobby store only has these type of battieries for my plane.. heres a link www.ihobbycentral.com/ni-cd-and-nimh-batteries-c-1043.htmlapparently I guess none will work for my plane? if they do let me know and take a guess on how long they will last in flight. And Do I haft to also charge my original battery in the car? Cause I read this Like HBZ1013, this battery cannot be fully charged by Wall Charger HBZ2519.

HBZ1013 is a direct replacement for the one that came with the plane.

that is true. your wall wart wont get your nimhs to full charge, put they'll get pretty close. i never worried about it, and almost always used the AC charger. i changed to lipos after only about 50 flights anyways. the whole RTF charging platform is a POS IMO. i would only but 1 extra battery for now becuase as you fly and read more i can guarantee you will end up gutting your whole system. (when you do this - dont go specktrum...you'll understand later). charge them with your AC charger and dont worry...you're already smarter than most dopes because they dont read the manual anyways.

a peak charger will charge the battery to its peak capacity. they are almost always DC power. your AC charger wont get your batts to their absolute peak, but pretty close. they are trickle chargers that slowly dump juice into your batts. be aware that to extend the life of your nimh batteries you should always charge them as close to peak as you can get them and discharge them almost fully (try not to reach the low voltage cutoff).
if it's not an inconvienience (i know thats spelled wrong) to use your DC charger than go for it. your AC charger will work fine as well, you just wont reach the absolute peak of the cells. my DC charger arrived broken and i was too lazy to complain and get a new one. i always used my wall wart and never had a problem with it charging my nimhs or worrying about it doing so.
you should buy replacement battery HBZ1013. there is also an 8-cell pack you can purchase that will give you more power/speed, PKZ1023. it also looks like hobbyzone changed around some of their fimiliar part #s. be sure to read the descriptions before buying.

no none of those will work in your cub. since you're using the stock charging setup you should purchase hobbyzone batteries, like HBZ1013, to keep everything simple while your still learning. you may have to order from hobbyzone or horizonhobby and suck up the shipping to get them (check ebay), but at least you wont have to go out buying new chargers right away

admiralev will have some updated info for you soon, right admiralev?> Your DC (pistol shaped) charger will only charge up to 7-cells. The AC charger WILL charge 7 or 8-cells but do so differently. If they work, use them. If they croak-do not replace them with PZ. The link you sent has no batteries that will work. The cub battery box is small and block shaped. The stock PZ batteries aren't bad. Please read this link on NiXX batteries-it'll answer many of your questions: supercubclub.proboards78.com/index.cgi?board=batt&action=display&thread=1648

sorry jake, i was misinformed about memory effects and nimhs. read back a bit as i editied a post.
fly,
i dont think i should post those links as it will confuse the hell out of him...it took me 20 mins to read through the wall wart 1 and analyze the graphs, and i suck at dumming down and regurgitating info. that's why all my posts say "nice paint job brewskie". perhaps you could lend a hand?

I think he'll get what he needs if he reads that link I gave him. All MEN out there-----The is NO MEMORY EFFECT IN NIXX------Got that? Do NOT spread that BS. Help stamp out ignorance. Jeez, men seem REAL attached to that bit of garbage and toss it around like they know something about batteries. (Don't feel picked on admiralev-this problem is so common it's incredible. Pops up everywhere). Read this: Dan's Quick Guide to Memory Effect, You Idiots www.dansdata.com/gz011.htmThere are more in depth articles I can point curious individuals at should you want to further your education beyond this article.

i actually found this one to be particularly helpful, even moreso than the other (although they are completely different types of knowledge), especially if you plan to make the jump to the HZ 8 cells or elites www.rcbatteryclinic.com/(i think it take you to the main page even though the link is from the wall wart page. go to the left hand side and click "all about wall wart chargers") admiral

I used the 'Wall Wart' article to figure out how to modify one to charge my MUCH larger JR TX batteries. The stock 65mA would take ~ 3 days if discharged completely. I got a 400mA 'wart', switched the leads (JR is negative center terminal-this is odd, don't do this unless you study up on it). Works great. Cost a whole $1.50.
I've also used the largest capacity (usually 1500mA/1.5A, occasionally 3000mA/3A) wart I could find at the thrift shop to make cheap power supplies for chargers. This is adequate for charging at about 20% less than the rated output; ie, you can't charge at 2A if the PS only puts out 1.5A, you are limited to about 1.2A or you burn out the PS.
