Don't let me scare you off. It's an acceptable technology as long as you understand it's limitations. Since you are running a stock battery it'll be fine. The brushed ESC are OK.
The discussion was about the 480LI (lithium compatible). I'm pointing out that it's a bunch of marketing BS. The GWS lipo ESC are dinosaurs-way behind the technology curve.
FWIW the 400's are a bit better than the 480 (has to do with the FET electronics), but also a bit more expensive as BRUSHED ESC. They are still poor as lipo ESC.
So go fly it - have fun. When you go brushless don't go GWS for ESC.

I don't think I'll GWS for anything else. The possible exception might be an indoor plane. Thanks for your help I have everything setup just waiting for a time to re-maiden the electronics and ailerons.

They make (mostly) decent planes and excellent servos. The RX are.....acceptable for park fliers.
