Hi All I am new to the hobby, but have been around aircraft my entire life. I understand the principles of aerodynamics and flight, so I think I am ok but to much information is never a bad thing. My question is how much weight can the super cub carry? I was very eager to get it in the air when it arrived, that mixed with inexperience let to a wing broken into 3 pieces and a fuselage that I actually managed to impel on an antenna where I work... Good times. So again with inexperience being my guide i started to repair and improve the cub's durability. I used aluminum tape (we call it speed tape) and a tape called shrink tape. (it is used to cover electronics on ships). I then completely wrapped the wing and cowl in packing tape. I left the tail section as it is stock. The weight of the tape is really not that much, but being that I have only flown it a handful of times I don't know if I have added too much or not. Does anyone still have a stock cub they could weigh and post for me? Thanks for the info and help. I will post pics of my Frankencub when I get them. ;D

Hey guys,
I have two cubs but they have both been totally revamped so I can't answer how much they weigh but I'll bet you would be surprised how much they can carry.
Looking forward to the pictures and too bad you didn't get one of it stuck on that antenna.
Don't get discouraged. We've all crashed. Let us know how it goes.

The Cub can carry most anything that can fit in it. people do AP all of the time with heavy cameras and the stock setup. some minor packing tape will not be a problem

Mine is no longer stock but I believe it weighed around 28 oz. when new. As for how much weight can it carry stock a small camera is about the limit .

all i can say is i was wondering the same thing for putting my digital camera, heavy by the way on the cub for some onboard video anyway i just strapped it on put the throttle full and threw it and hoped for the best it could carry it but it had a damper on the climbing capabilities and stunts but they can carry a lot.see my vid hope u like the turnout www.youtube.com/watch?v=3EzXSufIUEI
