well im adding two new planes, one for fun (air to air combat) and one for scale flight. first the fun one, a hobby people simple stick, all 5 of us that fly at our local school now have one for some fun combat, actually here are some pics of our last outing ill post some pics when its all together. next is a cmp cessna 182 skylane from raidentech.com, its a .50 size nitro. right now im trying to decide between 2 or 4 stroke and what size. it looks amazing in person, it has a ton of scale details and alot of fiberglass parts. cant wait to get it together.  |

^^thats what i am leaning towards. they recommend a .52-.63 4 stroke, i thinking a .61 os or magnum, or maybe even a .70 since everyone seem to have to add a lot of weight to the front to get the cog right.

I would probably go with the Magnum. I think the .70 would probably be a better choice. You can always use "throttle management" if it has too much power. Wait, wait, wait..........is that even possible?  ?? Anyways, nice plane for sure. Congrats!!! |

found a few saito fa-72's on rcu for about the same price, and they are a bit lighter and said to make a bit more power.

well had a saito fa-72 lined up on rcuniverse but the guy never answered my offer, but i did get a os max fl-70. now i need to order some servos and get building.  i did maiden the simple stick today, that little plane is alot of fun for cheap, now when we get 4 of them together there should be lots of foam falling, i mean fun lol. |

well here is the motor. got everything i need to build it, other then time. tomorrow i hope to have the control surfaces all hinged and the wing on. then the servos, control linkages, gas tank and last but not least the engine on soon. os max fl-70, top flite 13x6 and GP spinner.  |

I know what you mean... Where we fly, we have slow stick pylon races.... It's basically surviving bird wins..... BTW, that motor looks sweet. Looks to be a nice combo. well found a down fall to the os max fl-70. its meant to be a electric start only so there is no choke. pain in the butt when you don't have a starter. i would rather chicken stick it but its alot of work. owell 1/2 tank through it 1.5 to go, im gonna have a sore arm.

i woulve gone with the saito. i was at an airshow and a guy had one on a cessna similar to yours. it flew like a beaut. just my 2 cents. it was a golden knight if im not mistaken....i dont know much about nitros. the sound of it was perfect for the plane...really nice

i had a satio fa-72 lined up (same as black knight, just not black) and the guy never responded to my offer. so i ended up with the os, its not bad, .1 hp less no biggie but i didnt know about the elec start only. guess ill just pick one up and make life easier.

well sorta, simple stick #2 is awaiting a non windy day for maiden. for the cessna im waiting to get a working drill battery. i guess i can try charging the individual cells to look for the dead ones and steal from the other dead pack to make one good one, lol darn nicads. im gonna try to Finnish it up tonight hopefully.
