hey prostock could you maybe open up a new thread and post some pics of how you did your battery box mod or at least explain it?
also, what charger do you use? what tool is needed to check the number of volts in each cell?
thanks!

I have this charger www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXKSY1With this balancer www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&W=001410216&I=LXMGS7&P=KAnd my old cub is long gone, but I am in the process of building a new one. If your setup is stock and you need a quick fix just velcro your battery above your battery box and just guess and check your COG. It shouldn't be that big of a deal. However, in the long run I would suggest taking out your battery box and replacing it with a thin sheet of balsa (or something similar), and just load the battery in from the top which is what I did.

arent lipos longer though? will they fit in the cutout electroncic area of the cub?
if my cog needs to be adjusted, do i just add weight where needed? the plane should be a little front heavy, correct?

Yes. That's why you may have to cut out your battery box.
Just tinker with it. You can't kill it ;D
As for balsa, try your local hobby shop or maybe even fabric store.
And the cog depends on your setup

do you just take your lipo and drop it in from the top? does it lay flat or upright? the stock ESC is pretty bug, it might be hard to make space
i think i will try to patch in foam at the at the bottom of the battery box and fill it with model fill. im in the process of preparing for ultracote and i need the surface to be perfect. then i can lay a sheet of balsa inside and epoxy it to the walls. it should work...i hope. i will completely eliminate the piece of plastic thats currently in it
thanks for the balsa

I forgot exactly what the stock setup looks like as mine was custom.
It does need to be secured some way though in order to avoid the "too much wind" story ;D

i might be able to make a slot out of balsa to go in front of the servos. i dont have my lipos yet, so i have to be able to make it work for my NiMHs too for awhile.
im still working on the bodya nd sanding right now, so this would be the time to do it. do you know approx. how long those 2200 mah lipos are (3S)?

If you remove the battery box I would just attach about a 1/2 inch piece of wood to the front wall and attach the battery vertically using velcro.

ahhh so you're talking about where tha motor wires go through to the ESC? got it. yea that might throw off the COG.
how do you adjust it /see where the COG is?
