This mod has been a lot of fun and the SC looks good with the new 450 E Flite installed. The ESC lays on the right side of the motor where it will get good cooling from air flowing through the cowl.
The Pro 25 E Flite ESC I am using has 16 AWG battery wire but the wire on the lipo is 14 AWG. I cannot find any 14 AWG but did find red/black 12 AWG ultra wire. Got this at my LHS and it is fine stranded very flexible wire and will work great. While I don't mind using it it will be a trick to get it soldered onto the Dean's Connector post. Just looks to be overkill. Radio Shack did not have 16 or 14 AWG in bulk and I don't need a 25 foot roll.
Any ideas?

I would think the local Home Depot, or any good hardware/ electrical store should be able to help you out.

Picked up 14ga automotive wire from Wal-Mart. It is not as flexible as I would like but will work. Soldered the Dean's connector onto the ESC wire and completed the wiring.
Got the ESC and lipo connected last night and gave the 450 E Flite motor a test run.
All I can say is, WOW !!

Hi Swimmer. When i did my upgrade to the 450 i was amazed at how quiet it was compared to the stock motor. You will love it's performance.

scc,
You are right, first thing I noticed was the quietness of the 450 compared to the stock motor.
How did you situate your battery? Looks like standing vertically against the firewall with the battery connection extending into the battery compartment would work.
What prop size are you using?

I just got a 450 and I ordered some 10x8s.
I'll let you know how it works. I may move to an 11x7.
