can someone tell me if the banana plugs (i think that's what they're called) running from the motor can be swapped to deans?
thanks!

The convention is called bullets. Use 3.5mm, male side on the motor, female on the ESC. www.donsrc.com/cart/index.php?act=viewProd&productId=9You can use a Deans but most folks use bullets for that application. The crimped SC bullets on the current motor will actually fit in the gold 3.5mm bullets. I've got a buddy with lousy soldering skills that did that after needing a motor replacement to connect to an ESC I had soldered 3.5mm bullets on for him. I was surprised actually. They fit OK and seem to be working fine. Since he crashes everything into oblivion it hardly seemed worth the effort to replace them given the likely short life span of that motor. Banana plugs are more elongated, generally 4mm, and often used to plug into power supplies and multimeters. fly

As long as they are plugged in well the stock bullets are fine. It's the Tamiya (battery) connectors that are lousy. Besides, I know how much you like to solder. fly

Yes, they can be hard to pull apart. Some people, especially those that have soldered them poorly and got them misaligned, find them hard enough to end up hating them. They are a good solution, not a perfect one.

i would much rather have a connection that is difficult to pull apart than one that is loose any day
