Hi everyone,
I'm new to this and after my first flights on Saturday with a instructor and my last "heavy landing" I returned home. When checking out my model, I found my elevators fluttering, with TX on or off. The rudder was ok.
I tried 3 batteries and switched off TVs, radios and the PC - no difference. With batteries disconnected, I looked inside at the servos and saw that the white "elastic" adhesive on the tabs was not keeping them securely in place. Also, the "elastic" double sided tape on the underside of the servos was not holding them to the bottom of the servo "pocket" in the fuse. This allowed the to wobble.
I re-glued them in (UHU POR) and all now OK.
Does this make sense? Would loose mounts that allowed the servos to rock back and forth have caused this elevator flutter. If so, why didn't the rudder move (it is much stiffer than the elevator). Or was it interference? (I may have disturbed something else while fixing the servos. Any ideas?

Yeah it probably was radio interference, if you are using the stock TX then it is interference. 24MHz is such a stupid frequency to be on.

The reason behind your flutter is this. The servo is recieving a signal telling it to center. While the servo is loose it finds center and when it stops it (the servo) keeps moving so it centers the other way and so on so forth. It just keeps trying to stay center as it keeps moving making it impossible to carry out it's job.

Hi mrmugen and cvrcmemberl
Glad to have "thought it through" and pleased to say that with servos refixxed in position, elevator flutter has gone away and trim now does not have to be adjusted all the time.
I think that while some problems can be due to interference, loose servos can cause flutter even with all electrical items and the Tx turned off.
