Finally made what I think are an acceptable pair of snow skis for the Super Cub. Tried with plastic, but just couldn`t get a consistent angle at the end. Well, paint stirrers should work...
Glue 4 ½ inches of a paint stirrer on the end of another paint stirrer
Do this twice and clamp the 2 planks together to cure ( with 4 ½ to 4 1/2)
Rubber band and tape the 2 planks together to work on
File the ends rounded and angled using centerline of 2 planks as a guide
Flip over the planks so the 2 long sticks are back to back and rubber band them together
Sand off excess glue to square up sides
Make 2 attachments for landing gear by:
Keep the cap and cut off the knurled knob of a used Chap Stick tube. Drill a 1/8" hole in the center of knob and cap.
Cement the 2 pieces together ( holes also allow the fumes to escape from inside of cap )
Repeat this and you have 2 Chap Stick landing gear thingeys Roughen up the plastic and attach (Gorilla Glue ) a Chap Stick landing gear thingey in the 90 degree angle of long stick and 4½ “ stick
Paint the whole ski with the paint stirrer handle still attached When everything is dry cut off the ski 8 inches back from rounded end and touch up the cut with paint
A 4-40 nut on the end of axle holds up better than stock black plastic part
That`s it, will add pictures as soon as I get some taken.

Just couldn`t wait to post a picture. Got the skis made, they were drying and curing and I figured "What the heck, just one little flight" Well the Super Cub caught a bad case of the crash and burn but has been on the mend and prognosis is good. lol Wow, snapped the wing, broke the tail off, cracked left side of fuse, some foam damage around the battery box but it`s nothing Gorilla Glue and packing tape can`t fix. Many thanks to everyone who has shared suggestions on fixes, upgrades and the SC! [/img]

This is the real Super Cub.[/img] These are the new shoes for my Super Cub.[/img] This is a close up of the actual skis. Decided to add some elastic string from the tip of one ski looped around the landing gear and secured to the other ski tip. This was to make sure the skis stay level or have the tips slightly angled upwards, for landing. Oh yeah, those ARE coffee stirrers on them, makes them look more like the real deal. Now if it would only snow, like 50 some degreees and windy!

Yeah, sorry. I can`t seem to put in more than more than 1 picture in a post. So the last 3 pics are the only relevant ones and correspond to the 3 pics listed in reply # 4. Hope that clears it up a bit.
