Well, bad news and hard lesson. An evil tree has captured my SC and holds her ransom. I believe my broken neck falling from the tree is the ransom. These oaks around here are tough to get into and never let go their prey. All this after a wonderful flight. Location location location. Buy another one? It's like owning a boat!! Updates soon. Off to Willows to pray for wind. Who would think I'd want some killer wind?

Lol. I was TDY at Tonopah AFB in Nevada where all the F117's were housed. So I have seen a bunch of "UFO's" in my day. I had my Bobtail truck hit/clipped by a predator wingtip when it was taxiing while I was hauling chaff and flare in Iraq. Those prop driven ones always seem to be sneaking up on me! As for NC I was stationed in Fayetteville, NC at Pope AFB for 6 years. I am familiar with both Army and Marines since we provided close air support to them. Once again, welcome to our forums....squid!

I actually got a forklift ride up once. Good thing, it wasn't terribly high but it was firmly implanted in one of those sticker kind of trees. It needed to be carefully separated from the thorns.
Another guy in our group put one WAY up in a tree. He worked for a cable company and was able to finagle a passing crew with a cherry picker to drop by and get it out.
A third guy I know put one up. He left to get a rope and when he returned it was gone. He figured some agile kid got it down.

. . . . and I once had to call on the services of a tree surgeon with his special tree-climbing equipment (plus the wonderful AeroLoop plane recovery tool . Incidentally, if ever a thread wandered hither and yon, it's this one! ;D
