I've never flown before but am ordering a super cub on Monday...thought this would be a good place to start

welcome to the forum westnova, you're right, this is an excellent place to start. Plenty of people here that know exactly what's wrong with the stock super cub, and the best way to fix it! :-) Watching this three part video is an excellent how-to of the basic super cub mods that are probably well worth doing before your first flight. They will make the plane much more durable and crash resistant. Basically, you epoxy in some popsicle sticks for reinforcement in key locations, cut a hole in the poorly-designed battery box to mount batteries vertically, and rearrange the electronics accordingly with some velcro or tape so it all fits together nicely. It's also a good idea to start playing around on a basic simulator. Try FMS www.heliguy.com/nexus/fms.html
