The stock thrust angle was maintained by using the original black stock motor mount. Carefully it was cut it down and grinded away all but the angled piece that attaches to the front white plastic cowl securing ring. Then attaching a 2.5 inch x 2.5 inch piece of 3/32" of plywood to the black cut down mount the new X motor mount attached to the plywood. I will post a pic. I had to buy four 1 1/2" #6 3/32" taper head machine bolts/nuts and washers. Measured how far to space the new motor to bring the prop out far enough and secured it all with LocTite. Mounted the new servos with screws on a piece of 3/32" plywood then glued the plywood into place. A cooping saw worked well for cutting the plywood! Velcro holds the new 40amp ESC and Spektrum AR6200 2.4ghz RX. Last pic is brass rod/carbon rod wing mod.

Maiden flight today with upgrades...Man oh man does the new motor/prop make her scoot! Everything from Headsup RC performed flawlessly. The motor is very quiet but scoots like a bat out of ell (British version, lol). ESC beeps to tell you all is good and Jeff includes a detailed instruction sheet which I thought was very nice.

Good to hear! I've got some of those props on the way. The 10x7 doesn't do it for me on the brushless 480.

The prop sits against the silver piece on the front of the motor which spins. The silver piece is about the size of a Budwieser bottle cap which is bigger than the original cowl prop hole. So in order to have that part stick out the front of the cowl, I had to cut the cowl. I never measured the original distance. Just maintained the same prop angle and brought the motor out to the minimum distance so the motor and prop would clear the cowl as it spins. She flys super, Lots of power!

Just got back from flying my Super Cub. I am so happy with the way she flys! Did my first power loop, which the outrunner will do at any flip of the sticks. When she is trimmed nicely and throttled up at a good clip WOW how she looks so wonderful in a nice banked turn!

I fly my Super Cub without gear. Do you really think she would land better in the snow with gear?

I fly my Super Cub without gear. Do you really think she would land better in the snow with gear? lol. no no, that's not what I meant. I mean, put some skis on, man! Do your electronics receive any damage from the snow coming in through the battery box cover or have you taken steps to seal it?

Now skiis would be very cool! Don't fly too much in the snow, your hands get to freeziing, much prefer flying in the spring and summer. Doubtful my SC will ever get any gear or skiis, she was was first plane my trainer, which I still enjoy flying but belly landing is fine. I won't say never but I have too many irons in the fire. Been flying my T-28 and my PZ Spit mostly lately. Kind of re-did my Spit after a low level inverted pass that I lost sight of the plane when it passed in front of my open truck hood, bad flick on the stick and ...well she needed rebuilding! LOL! Building the Kyosho 56" P-40...have a H&M Corsair waiting in a box. Lots going. Electrics have never gotten wet in the Super Cub, nope. Battery is loaded from the top (take wing off) and I have a 1/8" bass wood skid plate glued to the foam in place of the battery hatch.
