Here are a couple of pics of what I've been working on. It's almost finished now, just waiting on LG and control horns etc. Also added ailerons, 480 brushless, and flaps. I took lots of picks and I'll post a link when I'm all done.

Looks very nice! Are you still using the plastic dowels to hold the wings on?

That's going to be one sharp looking plane. I've heard that there is a lot of foam that can be cut out of a Super Cub. Do you think it will affect the structural integerity of the plane? That is a sizeable chunk of foam but the plexiglass is a much stronger replacement. And a 480 brushless... Woo Hoo! More pics , more pics please.

Looks very nice! Are you still using the plastic dowels to hold the wings on? I'm using the stock dowels with 10 gage copper wire looped around and run down to the LG. I might just have it loop back up against the bottom of the battery box. To flatten out the wing, I removed the plastic pieces from the wing, cut along each side of the center section 3/4 of the way through. Then I taped the wing to the table and put Gorilla glue in the gaps, working it in with a toothpick. After trimming the glue and taping the wing, it's rock solid - as foam goes anyway.

alright ellis! ive been waiting to see this! glad to see your plexi-bending techniques worked. how do you plan to attach it? man you really gain a lot of battery box room with all of that foam gone...i cant wait to see the final result!
what kinda paint scheme you using with this one? looks great!

At first I was going to attach it with clear silicone, but after some some testing, it didn't seem to bond to the foam like I wanted. I wanted to use something clear for obvious reasons, so I tried Lexell and Super Seal, but I ended up using Liquid Nails - not sure how that happened. The battery is going to be in the same place - vertical towards the front of the battery box- not much added room for anything useful. You can see the battery through the window and it looks like a pilot sitting in there lol. The paint scheme is beige with blue trim, tail and cowl. I found a photo of a Super Cub caulkpit ;D on the internet that I printed out and stuck in. I hoping to get it finished in the next day or two, so I'll post a pic of it then.

Alright here she is. Sorry if it's too many pics. I like being able to see that the RX light is solid - NOT blinking. Found a pic of a Super Cub Control panel. I used two servos total for the ailerons and flaps. I used the buried push-pull cable setup for the flaps and ailerons.

hey ellis did you cut out your aileron servo holes with your #11 because i was watching those videos from that other link and that guy used some sort of hot knife thing. i just think that it would be easy to cut around the servo holes, but removing the bottom of the cutout would be tricky without going deeper than necessary and would also be sloppy
does this make sense?
