I just bought and assembled my first super cub and I noticed that the battery compartment is too small for the battery to fit in. I managed to wedge it in a little cockeyed but that was about the best I could do. Has anyone else had this problem? Or am I doing something wrong?

everyone else has exactly the same problem, most people modify the battery box ASAP. check out this video, you should consider these mods must-haves.

This is all because the new LiPo batteries are larger than the originals and dozy HobbyZone have not redesigned the battery box to accept them.
Here's an alternative mod which will not affect the centre of gravity.
Remove the battery box. Now VERY CAREFULLY cut out the front bottom of the box, just enough to accept the battery.
Then, when inserting the battery, you can first slide its base into the aperture you have made and it will lie flat in the bottom of the battery box, ready to be secured with the velcro straps.
It is also helpful to cut a rounded notch in the side of the white plastic battery box surround, on the side nearest to your in-plane power leads. This allows you to pull those power leads out of the plane and hold them in the notch, out of the way while inserting the battery.
None of this is my idea, I saw it somewhere on the net. But it's what I have done and it works OK.
WARNING! If altering the battery box for any reason, be extremely careful. If you ruin it, you cannot buy a replacement. For some unfathomable reason, HobbyZone does not sell replacement battery boxes - you have to buy a whole new fuselage with battery box. Stupid or what!
